Fire in the Hole 2 at Pots of Luck – Free Demo & Real Play

Nolimit City’s Fire in the Hole 2 returned in February 2024 with a 5,000x lift to its maximum win ceiling (now 65,000x) and two new mechanics bolted onto the original collapse engine. Pots of Luck hosts the full version under its UKGC and MGA licences, meaning GAMSTOP protection and eCOGRA dispute resolution if anything goes wrong. The library at Pots of Luck spans 4,000+ slots, but very few carry this studio’s reputation for extreme volatility and that 1-in-17-million max-win probability.

Game mechanics

Every spin starts with three rows active and 486 ways. Each collapse unlocks one additional row until the grid reaches 6×6 and 46,656 ways. That collapse mechanic is common enough, but the multiplier behaviour is not: it persists across every cascade within the same spin and resets only when the sequence ends.

xBomb wilds explode after forming a win, removing adjacent symbols and adding +1 to the multiplier. xSplit symbols copy everything to their left, doubling those positions, then turn into wilds themselves. Both can trigger simultaneously if an xBomb lands next to an xSplit. Wild Mining activates when three or more matching symbols align horizontally or vertically without forming a win, dropping one to four wilds onto the grid depending on how many symbols lined up.

The xBet toggle costs 250% of your base stake. It guarantees at least one scatter on the bottom row and clears all Dirt blocks, compressing the bonus frequency from 1-in-211 to 1-in-49. The RTP lift is negligible: 96.07% becomes 96.09%. You are buying frequency, not edge.

Bonus features

Lucky Wagon Spins trigger with three, four or five Bonus symbols. The feature is a hold-and-win grid with a three-spin counter that resets whenever a new Coin lands. Six enhancers sit along the top row: Coin Value, Multiplier, Dynamite, Beer and Dwarf. When a Coin lands beneath one, that enhancer fires. Dynamite doubles adjacent Coins or clears Dirt. Beer reactivates up to five previous Coins. Dwarf collects the entire column.

A seventh reel appears during the bonus. It holds Upgrade Crystals. When a Coin beneath a Crystal activates an enhancer, Coin Value and Multiplier stay active for the next spin. Dynamite, Beer and Dwarf become permanent until the bonus ends. The mechanic stacks: land multiple Crystals and you can lock multiple enhancers at once. That is where the 65,000x cap lives, and the round terminates immediately when you hit it.

🎯 Expert Tip: The 70× Bonus Buy awards standard Lucky Wagon Spins with no enhancer persistence. The 3,600× purchase guarantees a persistent Dwarf from the first spin. The math distribution between the two is fundamentally different, not just a multiplier of cost.

Bonus Buy

Bonus Buy is disabled under the UKGC licence, which means it is not available at Pots of Luck for UK players. If you access the site from Malta or another jurisdiction where the operator holds an MGA-only account, the menu offers five purchase options:

  • 70× base bet: 3-scatter Lucky Wagon Spins
  • 200×: 4-scatter Lucky Wagon Spins
  • 600×: 5-scatter Lucky Wagon Spins
  • 175×: Lucky Draw (randomised scatter count)
  • 3,600×: Guaranteed Persistent Dwarf

The combined Bonus Buy RTP is 96.34%, two basis points higher than xBet and 27 higher than flat base-game play. The maximum purchase stake is capped at £100 per round, the same as the standard maximum bet.

Welcome bonus

Pots of Luck offers 100% up to £100 plus 20 free spins on Book of Dead. Minimum deposit is £20. Wagering is 50× the bonus only, which means a £100 bonus requires £5,000 in turnover. Maximum cashout is three times the bonus amount (£300 if you deposit £100). Skrill and Neteller deposits are excluded from all bonuses.

Fire in the Hole 2 counts toward wagering at 100% because it is a slot, but the 50× requirement combined with the 3× cashout cap makes this a poor vehicle for welcome-bonus clearing. The hit frequency is 25%, volatility is extreme and the vast majority of win distribution sits inside Lucky Wagon Spins, which trigger once every 211 spins on average. You will likely hit the cashout cap or lose the bonus before completing wagering. Test in demo first, then use Pots of Luck login for real play once you understand how the collapse sequences behave.
